What is there to do in Kuala Lumpur?

Batu Caves -Opening hours: Daily 6am to 9pm. Cost: Entrance fees vary depending on which caves you visit, from RM5 (US$ 1.2) to RM35 (US$ 8.5) for the main Dark Cave. For women to enter you must dress appropriate visiting the Batu temple. If your wearing shorts before you enter there will be a "rent a scarf" at the entrance.
Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary -Its about two hours from Kuala Lumpur. the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary cares for rescue elephants. Kids and adults can interact with these gentle giants by booking a slot to bathe them in the water. We didn't get the chance to bathe with these beautiful animals because it was a first come first serve slot so it was a real bummer. We even called ahead of time to try to reserve a spot with no luck!

Thean Hou Temple-This ancient, pagoda-style temple is dedicated to the Chinese goddess of Heaven.
Travel to Singapore! Many tours and bus/trains offer a ride down to Singapore! Personally the drive is way to long for us but flights are super cheaper from KL! You can find a ticket for $20USD... sometimes even less one way!
Where to stay in Kuala Lumpur?
Chinatown Neighborhood
Is a budget-friendly neighborhood, that mostly accommodates backpackers. Chinatown is home to street food and budget shopping! You will find many local attractions in the area as well.
KLCC Neighborhood
Is a more modern area to stay in with many family-friendly activities, many restaurants, and nightlife. KLCC is a touristy area to stay in, but you'll be close enough to everything you may want to visit in KL.
Bukit Bintang
If your planning to shop till you drop, stay in Bukit Bintang where you will find fancy malls! In this neighborhood, you also find a ton of dining, street food, entertainment, and nightlife!
Bangsar Neighborhood
Is a little further from the heart of KL, but it's easy to connect with major areas by public transport. Bangsar is more of a residential area but perfect for families and anyone looking for a quiet area to stay in. Close by, you will also find the KL Bird Park and Butterfly Park KL.
How to get to your destination from the airport?
Grab
Is a safe ride-share app that's affordable to navigate around the city. You can download it in IOS or Android. Fares from the airport can start at RM 50+($11USD).
Taxis
Taxis from the airport usually charge around RM70 ($16USD) to RM100+($23USD). After 10 p.m, taxis typically raise the prices!
KLIA Express
The KLIA Express train brings you in 28 minutes from Kuala Lumpur central train station. A one-way ticket cost RM55($13USD) and can be purchased online in advance. Trains from KL Sentral Station run every 15 - 20 minutes between 5 a.m. and midnight.
Tip: When taking a bus or train to the airport, make sure you know in advance from which terminal your flight will depart! If unsure, allow enough time to take the shuttle (30 minutes) to the correct terminal in case you guess wrong.

You can now reach many tourist attractions by the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). If you’re on a long visit, consider purchasing the Touch ‘N’ Go card or weekly passes for cheaper fares. The card can be used on all trains, as well as RapidKL buses.
Taxi
Taxi is probably one of the most convenient ways to travel from one place to another in KL. Always insist on using the meter unless you're a great negotiator! Typically taxis charge RM3 for the first three minutes.
Rent a car
You can rent a car in the city, but its not an ideal way to explore the city. Traffic can get heavy in the city, and finding a safe spot to park is a pain!
When to travel to Kuala Lumpur?
You can visit Kuala Lumpur all year round but can expect the city to be quite humid whenever you do travel here.
If you can't stand the humidity, visit during the months of October to November. These months are considered the rainy season with a few showers during the day but at least you'll be able to beat the heat!
