Our Unforgettable Mommy & Me Group Trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲

This past year, our Mommy & Me group touched down in paradise in Montego Bay, Jamaica for a sun-soaked, joy-filled adventure that blended luxury, bonding, and unforgettable experiences. From start to finish, it was more than a vacation. It was a sisterhood, a celebration of motherhood, and a chance to make lifelong memories with our little ones. That's why we're going back this October 9-13, 2025.

✈️ Before Departure: A Bond Was Already Forming

One of the best parts of the trip started before we even got to Jamaica. In the weeks leading up to our departure, we connected all the moms in a private group chat. The conversation flowed as we shared packing tips, flight details, outfit inspo, and even our nerves and excitement. It made a huge difference by the time we landed in Jamaica, we already felt like a family.

Some of the moms even discovered they were flying out from the same cities and coordinated their flights so they wouldn't travel solo. Watching those travel day selfies roll into the chat was such a beautiful reminder of why we do this.

🏝️ Day 1: Welcome to Montego Bay

Our arrival at the Montego Bay (MBJ) airport was smooth and full of excitement. We were welcomed with a cool drink, check-in vibes, and a delicious dinner to kick off the trip.

We stayed at a stunning all-inclusive beachfront resort that truly had it all—private beach, waterslides, a full waterpark, a kids’ club, and even nightly reggae entertainment. It was the perfect setting for both moms and kids to unwind, have fun, and recharge.

🌿 Day 2: Bamboo Rafting + Jungle Socks

After a hearty breakfast, we headed out for one of Jamaica’s most iconic experiences—bamboo rafting down the Great River. This ended up being one of our group’s favorite excursions, and for good reason!

This is one of those tours people often assume you can't do with kids, but doing it together as a group of moms and little ones made it even more powerful. It was both fun and relaxing, and showed just how possible it is to explore the world with our children by our side.

Each raft was expertly piloted as we floated down the lush, bamboo-lined river. We brought a speaker to play some tunes while drifting through paradise, and every mom got her own bottle of champagne to sip on the ride, while the kids enjoyed refreshing coconut waters. ✨

And let’s talk about that limestone foot massage also known as the “Jungle Socks”! It left our feet baby-soft and had all the moms giggling and glowing.

There’s no recommended age limit for this tour, but if you have a little one that you feel is too small, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Two of our moms chose to use a local nanny service we recommended, and while they enjoyed the full bamboo raft experience, the nannies stayed back at The Outpost and played with the younger kids.

It was a beautiful example of how you can customize your travel experience and still be fully present and get that solo adventure time you deserve.

⛵ Day 3: Catamaran Cruise + Adventure at The Outpost

This day was full of WOW moments. We kicked off the morning with a private catamaran cruise out of Pier One. The music, the views, the drinks and of course, the snorkeling— et the perfect tone.

Then we turned up the adventure at The Outpost, where we could pick and choose from activities like:

• 🚠 Ziplining Over the Water

• 🧘‍♀️ Infinity Pool Relaxation

🎉 Celebrating Birthdays, Meko Style

A few special little ones and mamas celebrated birthdays during our trip and of course, we went all out. The hotel staff helped us surprise them with beautifully decorated rooms, balloons, and treats. Seeing their faces light up was priceless.

🌞 Day 4: Poolside Bliss + Magical Luminous Lagoon Tour

On the evening of Day 4, we experienced something truly magical a tour of Jamaica’s Luminous Lagoon, the brightest bioluminescent lagoon in the world! 🌌✨

Just outside of Montego Bay, this natural wonder is one of only a handful of places on Earth where you can witness this glowing phenomenon and Jamaica’s lagoon is the brightest of them all due to its perfect combination of warm climate and shallow, still waters.

What makes it glow? Tiny microorganisms called dinoflagellates live in the water, and when disturbed by movement, splashing, or even your fingertips they light up in a neon blue glow. It’s like watching stars shimmer underwater. 🌊💫

We boarded a small boat just after sunset and glided across the glowing water. Some of us even jumped in for a swim, watching our bodies sparkle as we moved. The kids (and moms!) were mesmerized. It felt like stepping into a real-life fairytale.

To make the night even more unforgettable, we were treated to a Fire Limbo Show back on land as part of our goodbye dinner. The music, the flames, the dancing it was the perfect way to wrap up our time in Jamaica with energy, joy, and a few happy tears.

🧳 Day 5: Goodbye, For Now

On our last day, we enjoyed one final breakfast together before saying our goodbyes. Hugs, tears, and promises to travel again soon filled the air.

Every family left with:

• A goodie bag

• Professional photos & drone footage from our entire trip

This trip wasn’t just about sunshine and excursions. It was about mothers getting the chance to bond, rest, laugh, and say: yes, we deserve this. Watching our kids make friends, seeing moms open up, and celebrating motherhood in such a special place—it reminded me why Travel With Meko exists.
